The Foundations of Our Community

From our humble beginnings to becoming a vital part of our region's community fabric, we have been dedicated to serving the social, cultural, and educational needs of our members. Our journey has been filled with milestones that reflect our commitment to unity, growth, and service.

Scattered Meeting Locations

No central hub means our community meets in various rented spaces, making coordination difficult and costly.

Limited Event Capacity

Current spaces can only accommodate 50-75 people, forcing us to turn away community members from events.

Inadequate Parking

Lack of parking creates accessibility issues and prevents many community members from attending events.

No Commercial Kitchen

Unable to host proper catered events or cooking programs due to lack of kitchen facilities.

Limited Youth Programs

No dedicated youth spaces means we can't offer consistent programs for young community members.

Accessibility Issues

Current locations lack proper ADA compliance, making it difficult for all community members to participate.

Program Restrictions

Space limitations prevent us from offering workshops, classes, and training programs our community needs.

Growth Constraints

Without a permanent home, we cannot plan long-term programs or expand services to meet growing demand.

Frequently Asked Questions

Why are we purchasing instead of continuing to rent?

Renting limits our ability to customize the space, plan long-term programs, and build equity. Owning a building means we control our future, stop paying rent to landlords, and create a permanent home that appreciates in value for our community.

Where are you looking for properties?

We're actively searching in Mountain View, Sunnyvale, Santa Clara, Milpitas, and San Jose. Our Real Estate Team is evaluating properties that meet our size requirements (10,000+ sq ft), parking needs (50+ spaces), and budget constraints.

How much will the building cost?

We have secured mortgage pre-approval with approximately $8M in purchase power. Property prices in our target areas vary depending on size and location. Our Finance Committee is developing detailed projections and will share transparent cost breakdowns as we narrow down options. Contact our Finance Team for current estimates and to learn more about our financing strategy.

How will we finance the purchase?

We're pursuing multiple funding sources: community donations and sponsorships, owner financing negotiations, traditional mortgage options, grant opportunities, and fundraising events. Our goal is to minimize debt and maximize community ownership.

Are donations tax-deductible?

Yes! All donations are tax-deductible (pending 501(c)(3) status). We provide donation receipts and maintain full financial transparency with quarterly reports to all donors and community members.

When will we purchase the building?

Our timeline depends on fundraising progress and finding the right property. We're currently in Phase 3 (Location Search) and Phase 4 (Fundraising). Once we secure sufficient funding and find a suitable building, we can move quickly to make an offer.

How can I help beyond donating?

We need volunteers for fundraising events, real estate leads, professional services (legal, financial, construction), and community outreach. Contact info@buildingnextgeneration.com to get involved!

Will the community have a say in the decision?

Absolutely! Before making any purchase, we'll hold a community meeting for feedback and approval (Phase 6). Your input matters, and this building belongs to all of us.

What happens if we can't raise enough funds?

We're exploring multiple financing options to ensure success. If community donations fall short, we'll pursue owner financing or traditional mortgages. Our committee is committed to making this happen responsibly and sustainably.
